Spicy Pickle sells first Montana franchise

Spicy Pickle announced in a statement that it has signed a new franchise agreement for Billings, Mont., marking the company's entry into the state.

Construction also is also underway for a third Austin, Texas, franchise restaurant, a second Las Vegas location and a second Houston eatery. All are expected to open in the first half of 2010.

Spicy Pickle Franchising Inc. also has opened a second franchise restaurant in downtown San Diego, directly across the street from Petco Park stadium.

The opening marks the third Spicy Pickle restaurant open in San Diego County in Poway, Calif.

"It is gratifying, especially under current economic conditions, to start up with a new franchisee in a new market, so we are particularly pleased to be working on a new Spicy Pickle restaurant in Billings. It is also very satisfying to have franchisees that are getting financing to be able to move ahead with building programs," said Marc Geman, president of Spicy Pickle.
