South Floridians to customize sushi rolls

September 11, 2012

Residents of South Florida will be able to design custom sushi rolls when the franchise How Do You Roll? expands into the state's Sunrise community. The sushi shop recently signed a lease for its newest location at 13775 West Sunrise Blvd. in Sunrise, Fla., and will open in early 2013.

"People in South Florida have a genuine appreciation for restaurants that are trendy, innovative and/or health conscious," said Franchisee Chris Barney. "How Do You Roll? is all three of those things."

Customers have the freedom to be creative while designing their own sushi rolls at How Do You Roll?, Barney said.

The menu offers a variety of ingredients from the traditional raw fish to grilled chicken, and includes vegetarian and gluten-free items.

This is the first of three How Do You Roll? restaurants for the franchise group SoFlo Sushi LLC, which plans to have all three locations up within the next two years. The group currently is looking to expand the How Do You Roll? brand within Broward County, Fla.

How Do You Roll?, founded in Austin, Texas, has opened nine locations in five states this year, bringing the total number of operating units to 16.
