Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes launches passport promo

August 1, 2010

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes guests are invited this August and September on a culinary trip around the world as part of an upcoming passport promotion that includes stops in Italy, Greece, Asia and Mexico.

Every two weeks, Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes chefs will cook up international inspired recipes from around the globe. The first stop, Aug. 1-15, is Italy. For the first half of the month, guests can enjoy Three Cheese Tortellini Soup and Classic Antipasto with Salami tossed salad menu items. From Aug. 17-19, guests can revel in Asian cuisine like Wonton Chicken Happiness tossed salad and Thai chicken & peanut focaccia. Meanwhile, those looking for menu inspiration from Greece can order between Sept. 1-14, lemon chicken orzo soup and whole grain Greek couscous with feta and pine nuts. Finally, the trip ends with the Mexican dishes of Azteca Taco with turkey tossed salad and chicken enchilada soup, served from Sept. 16-28.

“Our passport menu has been a guest favorite for years, so we’re definitely looking forward to another successful world tour,” said Joan Scharff, executive director of brand and menu strategy. “Not only is it a great option for a healthy family dinner, but it’s also a fun way to educate children about world cultures and cuisine.”

Before heading out on their international tour, guests can visit www.souplantation.com or www.sweettomatoes.com to prepare for the trip. Information and downloads including kids activity sheets for each country with coupons included are available online. In addition, guests can share their trip around the world by sending postcards from different countries to friends and family via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter. And, back by popular demand, flat Sweetie photos are available to download and print so he can join families on their vacation. Guests are encouraged to share their photos with flat Sweetie on the company’s Facebook and Twitter Pages.
