Smoothie King opens 500th location
November 27, 2007
NEW ORLEANS — Smoothie King has announced the Atlanta opening of its 500th location. To celebrate, Smoothie King will give a free 20-ounce smoothie to any guest who donates five canned goods at any participating U.S. Smoothie King location Dec. 8.
"We couldn't think of a better way to commemorate this milestone than to give back to our loyal guests and give back to the communities that have supported us," said Steve Kuhnau, Smoothie King's founder and CEO. "We aim to provide a healthy alternative to traditional unhealthy fast food in the communities we serve, but we believe part of that responsibility is also to help ensure those in each community have enough to eat each day."
All donations will go to the food bank in the community in which they were donated.
After several years of opening more than 50 franchised locations a year, by the end of 2007 Smoothie King will have opened more than 80. The company expects to open more than 125 additional locations in 2008, including adding several to the 25 existing locations in South Korea.
