August 10, 2018

Smoke's Poutinerie is giving five amateur qualifiers a chance to participate for their region in a poutine eating contest. Finalists from each region will square off this October in Toronto to claim victory in the amateur eating competition, according to a press release. Airfare and a one-night accommodation will be included for each regional winner and one guest.

"Excitement is at an all-time high! We're giving our Plaid Nation Fans the chance to EAT THEIR WAY to #WPEC2018," said Ryan Smolkin, CEO of Smoke's Poutineries said in the release. "We want aspiring amateur eaters representing each region across Canada to come out, show us their WEIRD, WILD + WACKY side, and claim victory as their region's National WPEC Amateur Champion!"

Smoke's Poutinerie communities from coast-to-coast in Canada will host official 2018 WPEC Regional Qualifiers on Sept.15, 2018. Ending Sept.7, Plaid Nation Fans can enter to be one of eight amateur eaters to participate in their local qualifier competition. To enter, Fans must:

1)    Order from Smoke's.

2)    Take a photo with their order.

3)    Upload the picture to Smoke's website.

4)    Share their posts and have friends and family vote.

Entrants' game face submissions will land on the Smoke's Poutinerie website, where friends and family may vote for them online. The qualifying regions are: Canada West, Canada East, Ontario West, Ontario East and Greater Toronto Area.

Founded in 2009, the brand has more than 150 locations in Canada, and 50 more open and in development in the United States.
