Just a few months after announcingthat it had grown its presence by nearly 50 percent in 2016 and added another 50 to its development plans, Smoke's Poutinerie announced today that it has signed five additional franchise agreements for Canada. Units will soon open in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan and Edmonton, according to a company press release.
"I keep getting told it can’t be done, and I say 'You have to live it to believe it,'" CEO Ryan Smolkin, said in the release."Get on the gravy train for a weird, wild and wacky experience. These five agreements are just the beginning of our 2017 journey, which includes a huge focus on our Brand & Culture and our global domination. Sit down, buckle up and get ready for the ride."
The agreements represent the momentum of the brand's growth plan and come on the heels of a newly refreshed brand and culture rollout for all Smoke’s Poutinerie franchisees, Smolkin said. The chain is also building on the excitement by expanding its presence on university and college campuses, in sports arenas, stadiums, airports and expanding relationships with the NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL.
Founded in 2009, Smoke's Poutinerie has 150 units and serves 30 varieties of its poutin in settings featuring '80s Canadian culture.
