Smashburger to enter Southern Mich.

Smashburger has signed an agreement with Smash Venture LLC to operate six restaurants in the Kalamazoo, Mich., metro area.

The deal with Smash Venture brings the number of signed franchise agreements to more than 350 and by year's end, Smashburger will have approximately 100 stores open in more than 15 states.

"The team at Smash Venture LLC has vast operational experience and will be a great asset for Smashburger as we enter southern Michigan's communities," said Smashburger president Scott Crane. "We are confident that our partnership will make Smashburger every city's favorite place for burgers."

Smash Venture is led by CEO Terry Henderson.
