Smashburger, a fast-casual "better burger" restaurant, will open its third location in the Omaha metro-area on Sept. 8. The restaurant will open at 3811 Twin Creek Drive in Bellevue and continue Smashburger’s mission to become Omaha’s favorite place for burgers. The other two Nebraska Smashburger locations are at 123rd and L Streets in the L Street Marketplace and 72nd and Jones Streets.
Spokesperson Ann Pedersen said the market is especially appealing to Smashburger because of the area’s history of agriculture and beef producers. “It’s a strong market for people who like to eat out,” Pedersen said. The concept will open a total of 10 stores in the Omaha-Lincoln metro area throughout the next 2.5 years.
“The response to the first two Omaha locations has been very enthusiastic,” said Smashburger Founder Tom Ryan. “We look forward to continuing our expansion in the Omaha market with the addition of the new Bellevue store.”
Nebraska Smashburgers feature the Husker Smashburger, which starts with a one-third pound or half-pound burger with A-1 steak sauce, haystack onions, garlic sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise on an egg bun.
Named for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger, Smashburgers are a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent fresh Certified Angus Beef smashed on a flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of flavorful cheeses, the freshest produce and top-quality condiments.
