Smalls Sliders, a cheeseburger slider concept based in modular shipping containers, is expanding its presence in Upstate South Carolina following a multi-unit development agreement with Feather & Fries LLC. The agreement includes the acquisition of an existing location in Spartanburg, which opened earlier this year, and plans for four new restaurants across Greenville, Anderson and Clemson.
Feather & Fries LLC is an experienced multi-unit operator in the area, having previously managed locations for Zaxby's.
"This operating group brings an impressive combination of restaurant operations and long-term local commitment," Richard Leveille, vice president of franchising for Smalls Sliders, said in a company press release. "Their history as successful multi-unit operators, as well as their passion for building family-led businesses, makes them an ideal group to expand Smalls Sliders throughout Upstate South Carolina."
Smalls Sliders, launched in 2019 by restaurateur Brandon Landry, distinguishes itself by operating out of bright orange, modular shipping containers referred to as "Cans." The menu is limited to cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries, and milkshakes.
The brand has grown rapidly since its inception, backed by private equity firm 10 Point Capital and former NFL quarterback Drew Brees. Currently, the company has more than 375 locations open or under development across 30 states.
A representative for Feather & Fries LLC said the brand's streamlined business model and product quality were key factors in their decision to expand their portfolio with the slider concept.
The ownership group will oversee daily operations and development for the new Upstate locations. Timelines for the openings of the restaurants were not immediately released.
