Smallcakes catches MTV Music Awards fever

Beautiful Brands' Smallcakes cupcakery has been invited to be the exclusive brand vendor to the Conga Room at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 28, in Los Angeles.

The Conga Room is a contemporary event space located in L.A. LIVE, the downtown entertainment district. The Conga Room has hosted several record launches, movie debuts, concerts and gift giving parties that allows companies and brands to directly gift celebrities, trendsetters, athletes and other figures of public influence.

It is presented by The Presstige Group Public Relations (TPGPR), a full-service marketing and communications firm based out of Los Angeles that specializes in the entertainment industry. TPGPR invited Jeff Martin, Smallcakes founder, to appear as an exclusive Conga Room brand after one of its staff members saw Martin on a re-run of the Food Network's "Cupcake Wars Season 2."

"We are absolutely thrilled to be part of Jeff's vision and this showcase of Smallcakes to a special VIP audience," said David Rutkauskas, CEO and founder of Beautiful Brands International. "I haven't seen a set of taste buds yet that can resist the off the charts goodness of Smallcakes cupcakes, and I have a feeling they will be a huge hit in this exclusive celebrity venue."

Smallcakes plans to serve its Hot Fudge Sundae, Cookies-n-Cream and Red Velvet cupcakes to the Conga Room guests. A special Video Music Awards Celebration cupcake also will be custom created by Martin and made available.

Smallcakes was a contestant on the first two seasons of the Food Network's "Cupcake Wars" and was featured on a segment titled "Whoopi's Favorite Desserts: Cupcakes," on ABC's daytime talk show "The View" in August 2010. The brand recently made the move to franchise on a global scale through a partnership with Beautiful Brands International.
