Sloan’s Ice Cream is scheduled to open in September in L.A.'s The Village at Westfield, an  open-air luxury shopping, dining, events, entertainment and leisure destination, according to a company press release. It will feature fresh-baked waffle and more than 50 flavors of ice cream, such as Coffee and Donuts (smooth coffee ice cream combined with Krispy Kreme glazed donuts) and Mom’s Apple Pie (apple pie ice cream with bits of homemade apple pie).

"We could not be more excited to be expanding into Los Angeles," Sloan’s Ice Cream CEO and Founder Sloan Kamenstein said in a company press release. "After seeing the reaction from fans who have been able to enjoy our treats in San Diego, we knew Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley was the perfect spot for our next California location."

In addition to this opening, Sloan’s Ice Cream will add 200 franchise units in the next five to seven years, according to the release.

"Simply put, we created Sloan’s to be a dreamland for everyone — kids and adults of all ages — and our focus has never changed," said Kamenstein, who trained at London’s Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, as well as in a variety of kitchens throughout France. "We're thrilled about building on our huge following in Florida and San Diego. Sloan’s has a bright future in Los Angeles."

The first Sloan's opened in 1999, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
