Slapfish swims inland into 6 new states

Slapfish has signed a franchise deal to open locations in Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Texas.

Slapfish was nominated third in FastCasual's Top 100 Movers and Shakers list and won the 2016 MenuMasters Trendsetter Award by Nation's Restaurant News, according to a release.

"We are ecstatic about this deal because it speeds up the process through which we will get Americans to eat more healthy seafood," said Andrew Gruel, founder and chef, in a statement.

The expansion is a result of a partnership with Fransmart, the franchise development company that was responsible for the rapid growth of Qdoba and Five Guys.
