Shake Shack shaking up travel industry

January 10, 2018

Global restaurateur HMSHost and Shake Shack are shaking up the travel industry with a partnership to open the burger restaurant in airports and on motorways across North America.

The companies signed a development agreement to include multiple location openings over the next several years, all of which will be operated by HMSHost, according to a company press release

HMSHost's first Shake Shack, located at Los Angeles International Airport's Terminal 3, has been well received by travelers, HMSHost President and CEO Steve Johnson, said in the release.

"We couldn't be more excited to partner with Shake Shack to deliver such a well-loved, delicious offering to travelers," he said. "This brand is an icon with fans across the globe, and now those fans will be able to enjoy these world-class burgers when they're on the move."

Since the original Shack opened in 2004, in NYC's Madison Square Park, the company has expanded to more than 90 locations in 19 U.S. and Washington, D.C., and more than 50 international locations including London, Istanbul, Dubai, Tokyo, Moscow, Seoul and more.
