Shake Shack opening in Essex this week

Shake Shack will open a store at intu Lakeside in Essex, U.K., on Thursday, May 16, at 6 p.m.

The opening event will feature a break dance performance and the first 100 guests will be given limited edition tote bags and notebooks by illustrator Kate Prior, according to a press release.

The location is the brand’s tenth store in the U.K. and the design features white oak and Carrara marble, along with classic Shake Shack accents, such as black ATAS corrugated aluminium, according to the release.

The brand teamed up with Prior to create an art installation inside the store, which is located in the Eatery on level 3 in Lakeside's food court (Unit 413 and 414, West Thurrock, Essex, RM20 2ZJ).
