Shake Shack CFO stepping down, company reaffirms 2025 financial outlook

Shake Shack Inc. Chief Financial Officer Katherine Fogertey will step down, effective March 4, 2026, according to a company press release that also reiterated the chain's financial guidance for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2025.
Fogertey, who left the CFO role at Goldman Sachs in 2021 to join Shake Shack, is transitioning immediately into a senior adviser role to assist with a smooth transition as the company begins a search for her replacement.
To ensure stability during the change, Shake Shack has established an Office of the CFO, which will be guided by an experienced team across financial planning, accounting and investor relations, said CEO Rob Lynch.
"Katie has made a meaningful and positive impact on Shake Shack, helping us navigate pivotal moments of growth and transition," Lynch said in the release. "We are grateful for her significant contributions to the strategic and financial growth of our company and wish her continued success."
Fogertey expressed pride in her accomplishments, noting that the company had doubled its physical footprint and implemented significant improvements to its business model during her tenure.
"We have built a solid foundation that will help power Shake Shack's robust growth opportunity for many years to come," Fogertey said.
Financial outlook reiterated
Full Fiscal Year 2025, ending Dec. 31.
- Total revenue is expected to be approximately $1.45 billion, representing about 16% year-over-year growth.
- Same-Shack sales are expected to be up low-single digits.
- Adjusted EBITDA is projected to be between $210 million and $215 million.
- 45 to 50 company-operated openings and 35 to 40 licensed openings.
- Reaffirmed its three-year financial targets for fiscal years 2025 through 2027, which include low-teens percentage growth for total revenue and system-wide unit count.
Shake Shack operates over 645 locations system-wide, with more than 410 in the U.S. and over 230 internationally.
