Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Lamar Alexander have introduced the National Labor Relations Board Act on the heels of the NLRB's decision ruling that McDonald's is culpable for wage theft accusations raised by its franchisee employees.
In response, International Franchise Association CEO Steve Caldeira said the NLRB Reform Act is an "important step to removing politics from the NLRB and establishing a fair process for the consideration of all complaints."
He said the NLRB is currently "highly politicied," and cites the McDonald's decision as an example.
"Establishing a bipartisan, six member board will ensure that politics do not poison the work of the NLRB and that all workers will have their voices heard," he said.
