Scooter's Coffee hires Richard Heyman as CIO

Scooter's Coffee, a fast casual chain serving hot and cold drinks, teas, smoothies and food items, has hired Richard Heyman as CIO, according to a company press release.

Heyman will be tasked with improving the company's technology capability, helping with franchise support systems and customer experience services.

Heyman has more than 35 years of experience in information technology, working for a variety of businesses. Prior to joining Scooter's Coffee, Heyman served in leadership roles at companies that included Retail Digital Strategy Consulting, Christopher & Banks, Gordmans, Pamida Stores, Distributed Intelligence Systems, Sirius Retail and Baker's Supermarkets.

Heyman will advance Scooter's Coffee technology-enabled processes to provide IT solutions for franchise support and growth. Heyman will also work to upgrade teh company's drive-thru ordering system.

Heyman has a bachelor's degree in Geology and Physics from Tufts University and a master's degree in Geology from Brown University. He subsequently earned a master's in Business Administration and a master's in Information Systems from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Scooter's Coffee, founded in 1998 in Bellevue, Nebraska, has locations in Nebraska and Iowa.
