Sandy Hook tragedy inspires Tex-Mex chain to honor teachers

Tijuana Flats has deemed Dec. 27 "Teacher Hero Day" and is giving teachers a free entree in all 88 of its locations.

"The recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School has shaken the country, and myself personally," said Tijuana Flats Owner and CEO Brian Wheeler. "It made me realize that teachers are not always given the appreciation they deserve and we wanted to start changing that immediately."

Teacher Hero Day will be an annual occurrence in December at Tijuana Flats.
