Sandella's to expand to Alabama

WEST REDDING, Conn. — Sandella's Flatbread Café has finalized a deal with franchisee Ronald Roan to bring two units of the fast casual concept to Birmingham, Ala., the company has announced.
Roan, who has no prior restaurant experience, is an anesthesiologist, flight physician for international transports and Air National Guard flight surgeon. He plans to open his first location by the spring of 2009 and his second in 2010.
