Salsarita's asks fans to name new salsa

January 16, 2013

Starting this week, Salsarita's guests can submit a creative name for the chain's new hot salsa for the chance to win a six-night, all expense paid trip to Cancun. Submissions can be made at SalsaIsOurLife.com.

One grand prize winner will win a trip for two to the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun. The grand prize includes roundtrip airfare, six nights of resort accommodations, all meals, snacks and beverages, non-motorized water sports, nightly entertainment and all taxes and gratuities. The trip's value is estimated at $4,000.

The new hot salsa is made with a base of roasted tomatillos and four peppers — chiles de arbol, chipotles, habaneros and serranos. This addition will complement Salsarita's existing menu that includes Pico de Gallo, a chunky mild salsa; Roja, with a complex flavor accented by pickled jalapenos; Tomatillo, made with roasted tomatillos and Serrano peppers; Pueblo Corn, a fresh white corn accented with black beans; and Charro, featuring roasted tomatoes and a vinegar base.

"Salsa is now America's most popular condiment," said Salsarita's CEO Phil Friedman. "Our brand has always been a leader in salsas and as customers' taste buds become more adventurous we are going to offer them flavors they've never had before."
