The sale of Crispers LLC, a Lakeland, Fla.-based, fast casual restaurant chain, has been finalized between Healthy Food Concepts LLC and Publix Super Markets. Crispers, founded in 1989, operates 36 locations throughout Florida and serves fresh salads, soups and sandwiches.
"The sale of Crispers to Healthy Food Concepts marks an exciting new chapter in the evolution of the Crispers brand," said Crispers CEO Ron Fuller. "We look forward to rolling out several new initiatives in the upcoming months. It’s an exciting time at Crispers."
Through this acquisition, Crispers parts ways with Publix Super Markets, which purchased Crispers in 2007. In appreciation for its support, Crispers will offer a 10 percent discount to all Publix employees who wish to dine at any Crispers location on an ongoing basis.
In addition, Crispers announces "Friends Eat Free" Day on Aug. 11 to emphasize its loyalty to the patrons who have supported Crispers throughout the years.
Crispers will be the first fast casual restaurant investment for Healthy Food Concepts LLC, a new company formed by private investment group Boyne Capital to acquire Crispers from Publix.
