Salata announced it will open its second Chicago-area location Thursday at 140 E. Golf Road, in Schaumburg. As part of the grand-opening celebration, Salata will give away a free salad or salad wrap and signature drink to each of the first 50 guests in line beginning at 11 a.m., according to a company press release.
The new 2,555-square-foot restaurant is locally owned and operated by Salata franchisee Dan Campbell, who also owns and operates another area location in Wheeling.
"Salata's fresh take on the fast casual experience gives guests both a healthy variety and great value," Campbell said. "The Schaumburg location brings the community a new dining option with endless healthy choices for a quick lunch or on-the-go dinner."
Salata offers a selection of more than 50 ingredients, including an array of lettuces, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, seeds, nuts, chicken, seafood and vegan proteins to create fully customizable salads or salad wraps, the release said. Each location is certified gluten-free, and all of Salata’s dressings, soups and sauces are house-made and preservative-free.
The Schaumburg Salata features the company’s newly unveiled restaurant design with all-natural building materials such as dark mango-stained wood panels, subway tile, stone countertops and glass features. It will also have a tap system that delivers Salata's teas and lemonades through a system much like a beer tap.
Houston-based Salata has more than 50 corporate-owned and franchise locations in Texas, Illinois and Southern California.
