Salata will open its first Illinois location at 1083 E. Lake Cook Rd. in the Lexington Commons Plaza in Wheeling on Sept. 4, 2014.
The unit is the chain's 39th location. The restaurant will give away a free salad or salad wrap and signature drink to the first 39 dine-in guests on grand opening day. The grand opening will also include additional giveaways.
The new Wheeling location is locally owned and operated by Lake Bluff residents Dan and Amanda Campbell, along with Jack and Martha Campbell. The group plans to bring six additional Salata locations to the Chicago area within the next five years.
"We had our first taste of Salata when we visited my parents Jack and Martha in Houston, and we instantly knew we wanted to bring this concept back home," said Salata franchisee Dan Campbell in a company press release. "We know Salata's healthy mission and fresh offerings will be embraced as a great lunch and dinner option in the Wheeling community."
