Salata will celebrate the grand opening Thursday of its first location in Austin, Texas, in the Shops of Arbor Walk. The Houston-based chain has opened four restaurants this year, with 14 additional locations planned throughout the year, according to a company press release.
The new location features Salata's signature salads and salad wraps that are handmade and tossed for the customer featuring their choices of fresh, healthy ingredients, including lettuces, vegetables, beans, fruits, cheeses, seeds, nuts, house-made dressings and more, for one set price, rather than by weight. Chicken, turkey and seafood can be added for a small additional charge, and diners can also purchase freshly prepared soups, breads and desserts. From now until May 16, guests can try four new seasonal offerings, including kale, asparagus, green beans and zucchini.
The new 2,700-foot location, owned by San Antonio franchisees Pat Hanlon and Tom McCarthy and operated by Kasey Hanlon, is the first of seven locations the group plans to open in the Austin area over the next three years.
"We look forward to introducing the first Salata restaurant to the Austin area," said Kasey Hanlon, who is vice president of operations for the franchisee group. "We recently opened our first San Antonio location with great success, and look forward to bringing this healthy dining establishment to the Shops of Arbor Walk."
Catering to guests with special dietary needs, all Salata locations are gluten-free certified.
The 2,700-square-foot restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
