Houston-based Salata is expanding its presence Thursday in downtown Los Angeles. The chain specializes in tossed-to-order salads and salad wraps made from a selection of more than 50 fresh ingredients, according to a company press release.
The new 1,700-square-foot restaurant, located at 300 S. Grand Avenue in California Plaza's food court, is owned and operated by local franchisee Ara Simonian, who opened the first Los Angeles-area Salata in City National in 2011. With more than 30 years of business and entrepreneurship experience, Simonian has found his passion in offering customers fresh, healthy food that they enjoy.
"Since opening the first restaurant, the Los Angeles community has embraced Salata as a go-to for quick, healthy dining and we look forward to earning a loyal following at our new location," said Simonian. "Los Angeles is a mecca of healthy dining, but few restaurants offer the variety and customization of Salata – at a very affordable price."
As part of the grand opening celebration, guests who visit the restaurant Thursday and purchase a salad or wrap will receive a coupon for a complimentary Greek yogurt during their next visit.
The chain, founded in 2005, has opened five new locations in California and Texas in the past six months.
