Rush Bowls firing up blenders in Berkeley

February 22, 2018

Colorado-based Rush Bowls has signed a development deal to open early this year in Berkeley, California, according to a company press release.

The announcement comes on the heels of Rush Bowls' official entry into Nashville in the second half of 2017, and adds to the locations opening this year in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Indiana, Georgia, Missouri, Oregon and Texas. Colorado will also see several openings.

Franchisee Kenny Noori moved to the U.S. from Afghanistan in 2009, where he spent several years operating a car dealership before deciding to team up with Rush Bowls and bring the concept to Berkeley. While Noori's agreement is for one restaurant, he eventually plans to open as many as eight to 10 locations throughout the Bay Area.

"I am honored to be one of Rush Bowls' first franchisees and so thrilled to introduce the brand to the thriving Berkeley community," Noori said in the release. "Rush Bowls is not just a restaurant, it's a lifestyle. This will be a great opportunity for us to connect and build relationships with others in the area who are passionate about great tasting, healthy food."

Founded in 2004, Rush Bowls offers meals crafted from all-natural fruit, topped with organic granola and honey, and blended with protein vitamins and other nutritious ingredients. Customers can choose from more than 40 signature bowls or all-natural smoothies made with fruit and vegetable bases, including acai, kale and avocado, according to the release.

The brand has nearly 45 restaurants in various stages of development across 10 states, with a variety of deals in the pipeline in major markets throughout the U.S. Company plans call for more than 20 locations open by the end of 2018, according to the release.
