Boulder Colorado-based Rush Bowls, which serves healthy meals-in-a-bowl, is opening this month in downtown Dallas at the Union office tower on 2300 N. Field St. Owned by locals Ted and Elizabeth Bachmeier, the store marks the couple's fourth location. Their son, Tyler Bachmeier, will help manage the location.

"Rush Bowls provides all the servings of protein, fruits and veggies that young professionals in the area need to continue staying productive throughout the day," Ted Bachmeier said in a company press release. "We are proud to bring this type of healthy on-the-go meal option to the downtown Dallas community.

Rush Bowls was founded in 2004 when founder, Andrew Pudalov, a Wall Street executive, left New York's financial scene to pursue his dream of creating a healthy fast casual brand restaurant.

Franchising as of 2016, the chain has 34 restaurants in 19 states with over 100 additional locations in various stages of development.
