October 18, 2007

SALT LAKE CITY — Stuart Gee has been appointed as president of Rumbi Island Grill, the company has announced.

Gee was hired as Rumbi's chief operating officer one year ago. His primary objective is to grow Rumbi Island Grill into a national brand, he said.

Gee will retain his responsibilities as COO overseeing training, IT, operations, marketing and human resources.

Prior to joining Rumbi, Gee was COO at Main Street Restaurant Group, which owns TGI Fridays (57 units), Bamboo Club Asian Bistros (10 units), Redfish Grills (four units) and one Alice Cooperstown. In 1995, he joined Brinker International as vice president of operations for Romano's Macaroni Grill.

Rumbi Island Grill operates 22 restaurants in the tri-state region of Utah, Colorado and Arizona. Six of those restaurants opened in the past 12 months.
