Rise to pop up 5 new sites in Maryland

Rise Biscuits Donuts has signed a multi-unit franchise deal for parts of Maryland, including Silver Spring, Rockville, Towson and Baltimore. The quickly growing North Carolina-based franchise, named among Fastcasual.com's Top 100 Movers and Shakers in 2016, is expanding through franchise deals and corporate growth. The first of the five new locations is expected to open next year, according to a news release.

"We quickly realized when meeting the Rise team that we share similar business philosophies," said franchise owner Fran Kirley, in the release. "We look forward to introducing Maryland to Rise's handmade biscuits and donuts centered on a customer-focused service model. We expect long lines and big smiles." 

Rise Biscuits Donuts has eight stores open in North Carolina with franchise deals signed in eight other states and plans to continue franchising across the country. The brand partnered with Fransmart as an exclusive franchise development partner in 2014, and currently has more than 70 new locations in development.
