North Carolina-based Rise Southern Biscuits and Righteous Chicken is rolling out menu updates next week featuring sandwiches, breakfast boxes, tater tots and brewed iced coffee. The updates emphasize a heightened focus on lunch services, a simplified core menu and the reintroduction of beloved menu items, said COO Brian Wise.
"These changes reinforce that Righteous Chicken and Southern Biscuits are the core elements of our brand, and also signal an increased focus on our lunch service," he said in a company press release. "We're always looking to innovate and add new and exciting flavors to what we do best. This is the most significant update we've made to the menu in over five years and we're excited for our customers to fall in love with some new Rise creations."
New items include the Righteous Chicken sandwich with Boom Boom sauce and pickles, the return of the Hot Honey Butter Chicken sandwich from an earlier limited-time offering and a Chicken Club.
For breakfast, Rise has introduced a "Best Dang Boxes" category featuring grits or tater tots topped with Righteous fried chicken, sausage, or bacon, specialty sauces and other toppings. Customers will find Chix & Grits (Righteous Chicken served over grits with bacon, Cheddar cheese and green onion) and a Loaded Protein Box (eggs, protein of your choice, Boom Boom sauce over tater tots), along with its biscuits and gravy offerings. It also includes a Boom Boom BLT with 4 strips of bacon and Boom Boom sauce, and the Guacamole Smash, Rise's take on Avocado Toast, as well as the introduction of seasoned tater tots, a chocolate cake donut and brewed iced Counter Culture coffee.
Founded in 2012 by Culinary Institute of American trained Chef Tom Ferguson in Durham, North Carolina, Rise has 19 stores and over 100 franchise locations under contract.
