Building on the popularity of Xoco and Frontera Grill, chef-restaurateur Rick Bayless has partnered with HMSHost Corporation to bring Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless to the Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Tortas Frontera is located post-security near Gate B-11 and is the first airport location for Bayless and his team.
Bayless designed the Tortas Frontera menu to offer travelers a choice of tortas -- Mexican griddle-baked sandwiches, and mollettes, warm open-face sandwiches. Breakfast tortas include the Egg & Chorizo or Egg & Rajas, and breakfast mollettes include the Queso & Cajeta. Lunch or dinner tortas are made with all-natural and antibiotic-free chicken and pork, and include the Cubana, Chipotle Chicken and the Roasted Garlic Mushroom. Rounding out the menu is a roasted tomatillo guacamole bar, Kalona’s organic yogurt bar, chips, salsas, soups, salads, margaritas and beer.
“With Tortas Frontera, we are fulfilling Mayor Richard M. Daley’s goal to showcase Chicago’s world-class cuisine to the millions of worldwide passengers who travel through Chicago’s airports,” Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino said in a news release.
