Red Robin 4Q net, revenues up

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.— Comparable-store sales at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. increased 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, while for the year, comps increased 2.4 percent.
Revenues at the burger chain increased 41 percent to $163.8 million in the fourth quarter. For the year, revenues increased 27 percent to $618.7 million.
Net income increased 60 percent to $8.8 million in the fourth quarter, while full-year net income fell 7 percent to $29.3 million.
A total of 48 new Red Robin restaurants opened during the year, including 32 company-owned and 16 franchised locations. There were 208 company-owned and 139 franchised Red Robin restaurants open as of the end of 2006.
Red Robin Gourment Burgers Inc. plans to open 24 to 27 new restaurants in 2007, while franchisees are expected to open between 15 and 17 new restaurants during the year.
