Red Mango signs Houston area development agreements

September 1, 2009

Red Mango has awarded two franchise development agreements to open a total of six stores in the Houston area.

Jay Randle of The Woodlands, Texas, has signed a three-store development agreement exclusive to Montgomery County, with the first store scheduled to open in The Woodlands in November. Randle, who serves as president of the Houston-based oil and gas equipment company Best PumpWorks, said his wife, Denise Randle, and sister, Debra Guindi, will operate the three stores.

Joey Se of Sugarland plans to open three Houston stores over the next two years beginning with a location in the West University area. Originally from the Philippines, Se is president of Good Health Providers, a Houston nursing employment agency. Se said he chose to invest in Red Mango as an alternative to the stock market.

"Stocks are so unstable in today's economy that this seemed like a smarter way to invest in a brand I believe in," Se said. "My family and I are very active and health conscious, so we chose a company with those same values. Houston is becoming more and more focused on nutrition and, especially with the months of hot weather here, we believe Red Mango will really prosper in this community."

Red Mango opened its first store in Los Angeles in July 2007 and today has more than 50 locations open and expects to reach 80 stores by year's end.
