Red Mango names James Franks VP of franchising

March 11, 2009

LOS ANGELES —Red Mangohas named franchise veteran James Franks as its vice president of franchising. Franks will be responsible for overseeing an aggressive expansion campaign designed to spread the Red Mango brand throughout the United States.

The network rose from eight stores to more than 40 locations across the United States in 2008.

Franks previously served as director of franchising for Baskin-Robbins, where he implemented a Small Business/Small Network business model that resulted in more than 350 new franchise agreements and 200 transfers of existing units across the country in three years. Prior to his tenure at Baskin-Robbins, he held development positions for brands in the hair care, food and beverage, and automotive industries.

In his new role, Franks will work out of the Red Mango office in Dallas and will oversee a franchise development team that will lead Red Mango's expansion in Texas, California, Washington, New York and Massachusetts.

Red Mango was founded in 2002 in South Korea and opened its first U.S. store in July 2007 in Los Angeles.
