Red Mango is launching a national rollout of its expanded menu that features 22 smoothie varieties, including the nation's very first probiotic iced tea smoothies.
"Not all smoothies are created equal," said Dan Kim, founder of Red Mango. "We took a hard look at competitors and found a way to offer something significantly better. Our smoothies deliver the flavor and health attributes that our customers know us for in a delicious and satisfying treat that tastes great and helps support a healthy immune system. We now want to share that with America."
Red Mango smoothies are available in four categories – Fruit & Yogurt, Power (Functional), Fresh Fruit & Tea-Infused, and Iced Tea Chillers. They contain no artificial ingredients or high fructose corn syrup, are sweetened with all-natural zero-calorie stevia, and also are rich in GanedenBC30, a natural probiotic that helps support a healthy immune and digestive system.
Early tests of the expanded line met high sales targets and received rave reviews in markets that included Seattle, Dallas, New York City, and Palo Alto, Calif., according to a company statement. The results prompted Red Mango to conduct a national launch across its stores.
To debut the new smoothies, Red Mango is offering four days of free smoothies at select locations nationwide where each participating store will hand out up to 1,000 smoothie passports to consumers. Each passport can be redeemed for four free smoothies, one per day from July 20-23, when a flavor from each category will be featured.
Kim and a panel of experts from Red Mango's partnering suppliers will kick off the free smoothie days at a media event July 20 at the Red Mango store in new York City's Union Square. The event also will offer all consumers who visit Red Mango's Union Square location that day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. any regular-sized smoothie for just $1.
Red Mango smoothies are available in regular (16 oz.) and large (24 oz.) size servings, and start as low as 230 calories per size. Varieties include:
