Rapid Fired Pizza to open 2 more stores

Rapid Fired Pizza plans to open two stores later this year, one in the Eastern Kentucky city of Ashland on Central Avenue, and a second restaurant at an unspecified date later this year in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a news release said. 

The 3,000-square-foot Ashland restaurant is owned and operated by Big Blue Pizza, LLC founded by partners, Matthew Warnock, Travis Timberlake and Trey Vanhoose.  

"We are excited to bring the first fast casual pizza restaurant to Ashland," Warnock said in the release. "It will bring an innovative approach to one of our area's classic, culinary concepts." 

The Ashland store will be open by the holiday season and will include open-air dining, as well as the interior space. The Spartanburg restaurant seats more than 80 in 2,300 square feet of space on John B. White Sr. Boulevard, a news release said. Store co-owner and a Rapid Fired Pizza developer, Michael Kern said that location will also open later this year.
