Mark Lohmann, a former senior executive with Qdoba Restaurant Group, has been named chief brand officer of Rego Restaurant Group, which owns 800 restaurants in 32 countries, including Quiznos and Taco Del Mar, according to a company press release.
Serving in a newly created position, Lohmann will be responsible for marketing, brand strategy, integration and international opportunities across all portfolio brands.
Before working for Qdoba as vice president of strategy and business development, he spent five years with global management consulting firm The Boston Consulting Group, where he advised underperforming consumer, restaurant, and hospitality companies on strategy, positioning and transformation. Right before joining Rego, Lohmann served as CFO for Cool Planet, an entrepreneurial agriculture technology company.
"Mark brings tremendous experience leading transformational agendas for brands across the consumer and restaurant sectors," CEO Tim Casey said in the release. “As we continue the reinvigoration of Quiznos and Taco Del Mar and look to build out our restaurant portfolio through additional acquisitions, his background, expertise, and entrepreneurial mindset will be invaluable.”
The hire comes a month after Rego Restaurant named industry veteran Tim Casey as its new CEO. Denver-based Rego Restaurant is backed by High Bluff Capital Partners, which acquired Quiznos in June 2018.
