Qdoba franchisee adding 20 locations to portfolio

Qdoba anounced that B Wild Investments through its affiliate 7 Star Restaurants has acquired 20 Qdoba restaurants in a move that significantly expands the franchisee's regional footprint.
The acquisition from a longtime franchise group immediately makes B Wild Investments one of Qdoba 's largest U.S. franchise operators. The company is now on track to run 70 restaurants across five states: Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah, said Barry Dubin, founder and CEO of B Wild Investments and former owner of KBP Brands, which grew to more than 1,000 restaurant units nationwide.
"I'm very excited to join Qdoba given the strength and momentum of the brand as well as the very attractive opportunity to expand within existing and into new markets," he said in a company press release. "Our strategy is to grow our footprint via new unit development and acquisitions of existing units."
The 20 acquired restaurants include 16 in Colorado and four in Alaska. The Colorado locations are spread across the state's Western Slope, including Vail, Glenwood Springs and Colorado Springs. The Alaska locations surround Anchorage.
The deal builds on a previous 50-unit development commitment B Wild Investments made earlier in the year to bring Qdoba locations to cities throughout the five-state region.
Jeremy Vitaro, Qdoba 's chief development officer, welcomed the expansion.
"We are thrilled to have Barry expand his business portfolio with us and continue building on Qdoba 's strong growth trajectory," Vitaro said in the release. "As one of the fastest-growing brands in the space, Qdoba continues to attract some of the best operators."
The company, which operates more than 820 locations across the U.S., Canada and international markets, has 600 locations in development with expansion targeted for Florida, Texas, California, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee.
