Potbelly Sandwich Shop has announced a franchise growth plan for California.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop has announced a franchise growth plan for California. The strategy positions the toasted-sandwich chain for expansion initially in San Diego, Riverside County, Orange County, the East Bay and the Central Valley, according to a company press release. Potbelly is now accepting franchisee inquiries.

"I am thrilled to announce that we are ready to expand into California with our franchising strategy,” said Aylwin Lewis, chairman and chief executive officer of Potbelly. "We expect our franchisees to be strong multi-unit operators and brand ambassadors to make Potbelly an essential neighborhood hotspot.”

Corporation owns and operates more than 300 shops in the United States and its franchisees operate more than 30 shops domestically, in the Middle East and in the United Kingdom.
