Potbelly Sandwich Shop has implemented the Alteryx Geographic Business Intelligence technology platform to manage its sales processes and expansion strategy as the company begins to develop its national franchising program.
“As we grow our presence in existing markets, pick the best sites for expansion and embark on a franchising strategy for the first time, we need to leverage data and technology to make the best decisions. Thespeedand horsepower of Alteryx is helping us solve problems in minutes that used to take hours or days,” said Barry Walker, senior market planning analyst at Potbelly.
Potbelly's primary focus for Alteryx will be evaluating potential new markets by matching customer profiles to trade area characteristics. The company is using internally developed databases as well as segmentation and customer concentration information derived from the pre-packaged analytics, along with a wide range of disparate data sources consolidated through the Alteryx platform.
“Since 1977, Potbelly has done an excellent job growing their business withnowover 200 company-owned stores,” said Dean Stoecker, Alteryx CEO. “Their goal now is to play a hands-on role in helping owner-operator franchisees with everything from picking the right locations, to designing the stores, to maintaining the brand experience. Alteryx will support these initiatives in a variety of ways, including competitive and demographic analysis, location comparisons, sales targeting, and creating wizards to automate repeated tasks.”
