Potbelly opens 2nd Boston airport location

Potbelly Sandwich Shop has opened its second Boston Logan International Airport location in Terminal C. It includes ordering ahead via its app, so travelers and airport employees can skip waiting in line, according to a company press release.

"Our first location in terminal B was a success, so it only made sense to add another in a different terminal so that we can offer even more of our delicious menu items to hungry individuals on the go," Potbelly CEO Bob Wright said in the release. "We know that this second location will be a hit after seeing how our sandwiches, soups, salads and more appealed to both travelers and the airport workforce."

The location marks the fifth Potbelly location in Massachusetts and the twelfth airport shop. To celebrate the opening, the brand will host four weeks of promotions for airport employees starting Dec. 14, kicking off with a free cookie with the purchase of an entree.

This location will follow CDC guidelines and will take extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of its customers and employees. Precautions include requiring employees to wear facemasks and gloves at all times (employees must wash hands and change gloves every 60 minutes while working with cash or anytime they leave their station), employee temperature checks, regular sanitation of the POS systems and phone screens and plexiglass barriers at the cashier's station, according to the release.

Potbelly Corporation has more than 400 company-owned shops in the United States, and franchisees operate over 40 shops in the United States.
