Potbelly opening in West Des Moines

Potbelly Sandwich Shop will bring a location to West Des Moines, the second location in the Des Moines area, according to a company press release. Slated to open in the summer of 2017, the shop will be on Mills Civic Parkway under franchisee Paul Goldammer. He owns all of the Potbelly Sandwich Shops in Iowa and will continue to lead the brand's growth throughout the state, according to a company press release.

"It's very fulfilling to launch a second location in the Des Moines area," Goldammer said in the release. "We've built a strong interest for Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the city and it's a great accomplishment to extend that interest to those in West Des Moines."

In addition to the shops in Des Moines, Ames and Sioux Falls, Goldammer will oversee the West Des Moines Potbelly Sandwich Shop, which includes handling the shop's day-to-day operations, hiring new staff and booking local musicians.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop first opened in Chicago in 1977 and now has more than 350 shops across the United States. There are also 30-plus franchise shops in the United States and abroad.
