Potbelly Corp. announced a franchise growth plan targeting Upstate New York, including Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
The region has been targeted for expansion because of its strong mix of attractive residential and growing business communities, according to Potbelly.
"It's important to us that Potbelly's culture and values remain consistent as the brand expands into new markets in New York and across the country. Potbelly fans are proud of their local sandwich shop and each location is a reflection of its community," said Mike Walters, head of franchise development for Potbelly Sandwich Shop, in a company press release. "When we meet potential franchisees, we specifically look for proven operators with high business IQ that can make new Potbelly shops an extension of their community."
