Potbelly breaking into Nebraska

Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced its first unit in Nebraska will open in November.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced that Nebraska's first shop, a franchise location in Omaha, will open the first week in November in the North Park Shopping Center at 2056 N. 117th Avenue.

The franchise will be owned and operated by brothers Craig and Kendall Frantz.

"We are thrilled that our friends, families and neighbors can finally enjoy Potbelly here in Omaha," Craig said in a news release. "Our toasty warm sandwiches will be the talk of the town, now that Omaha's new best place for lunch is ready to open."

Omaha's first Potbelly Sandwich Shop will include approximately 25 staff members, ranging from customer service staff to managers.

Potbelly now has more than 300 units, more than 20 of which are franchised. The company is projecting more franchised shops to open in 2014.
