Irvine, California-based Pokeworks is launching a prototype for its first so-called "Cruise-Thru" mobile pickup lane, where the company said guests can order ahead online and pickup without leaving their vehicles. The first Cruise-Thru lane will debut in Knoxville, Tennessee this spring, a news release said.
The company said the new lane veers away from traditional drive-thru lanes in its design that pays homage to Pokeworks Hawaiian-inspired roots. Guests order in advance on the brand's app and upon arrival at the store, customers can skip the in-store line, pull up to the window and retrieve their orders.
The brand has plans to integrate Cruise-Thru Lanes into its future restaurant build-outs — primarily in suburban areas. The prototypes comes after Pokeworks' digital and in-store experience was upgraded, the release said.
"This year we've seen that safety, comfort and convenience have become the top priority for today's consumers. The Cruise-Thru Lane is just one way we've leaned into our commitment to innovation and adapting to better serve the needs of our guests, while maintaining delicious, high quality cuisine," Peter Yang, chief development officer and co-founder of Pokeworks, in the release. "It's our responsibility to listen to our guests and their needs while providing a solution without losing sight of the essence of our brand, which is the epitome of what the Cruise-Thru Lane is for Pokeworks. We look forward to testing the prototype and continuing to grow as we continue to serve communities nationwide."
Pokeworks currently has approximately 60 locations open across the United States.
