Pokeworks opening 'Epic' ghost kitchen

Pokeworks, based in Chicago, is opening its first ghost kitchen Thursday in partnership with Epic Kitchens, a company that operates multi-branded ghost kitchens in the U.S. Delivering to the River West area of Chicago and surrounding neighborhoods, the menu is available via all major delivery platforms, including DoorDash, GrubHub, Uber Eats, Postmates and Caviar, according to a company press release.

"The current national restaurant climate has forced all QSR's to analyze their sales strategies in order to accommodate public health concerns," Pokeworks CEO Mike Wu said in the release. "Our partnership with Epic Kitchens is the perfect medium to evolve our brand while addressing public health concerns amongst our audience."

The delivery-only location is Pokeworks' 54th location in the U.S., and the company is developing locations in Canada and Mexico.
