PJ's Coffee opens in Vietnam

September 7, 2016

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans has opened its first location in Vietnam at Ho Chi Minh’s Vincom B Center Shopping Mall. PJ’s parent company, Ballard Brands LLC, said in a news release that Rick Yvanovich and TRG International will oversee all Vietnam locations as the master franchisee for the country.

Yvanovich plans to open a second location in December, as well as 10 more sites in the next five years. PJ’s has 85 locations in seven U.S. states with upcoming substantial international growth plans, a news release said.

"Our customers in Vietnam will appreciate not only PJ’s high-end coffee and tea products, but the experience offered each time a customer visits a location," said Yvanovich, in the news release.

Vietnam is the world’s second-largest coffee producer and people there love the drink, though most favor it chilled since it's such a hot and humid climate. The country’s first PJ’s location is a non-traditional kiosk featuring the chain’s full menu of iced, frozen and hot coffee drinks, teas and pastries as well as its Signature Velvet Ice and Granita.
