PizzaRev headed to Mexico

PizzaRev has signed a franchise agreement with Grupo Galería to bring PizzaRev to Mexico.

PizzaRev has signed a franchise agreement with Grupo Galería to bring PizzaRev to Mexico. The agreement calls for 20 PizzaRev restaurants to be developed throughout Mexico City and the states of Mexico, Nuevo León and Coahuila, according to a company press release.

Grupo Galería, which owns and operates a food distribution center and 42 Carl’s Jr., four Buffalo Wild Wings and five IHOP restaurants, is the largest Carl’s Jr. franchisee in Mexico and opened the first international Buffalo Wild Wings outside of Canada. It also operates a real estate division and several dealerships, including Isuzu trucks, Nissan forklifts and Subaru cars.

"The addition of PizzaRev to our portfolio furthers our mission of being the best restaurant group in Mexico. We’re eager to bring the PizzaRev-olution to our country."

The fast casual pizza model is new to Mexico and Barceló believes faster, more healthful pizza will resonate with both lunch and dinner customer segments, just as it has in the U.S.

PizzaRev continues to expand nationally with support from partner Buffalo Wild Wings, which in 2013 announced an equity-investment in PizzaRev and an increase in its stake in 2014.
