Washington D.C.-based &pizza has never shied away from adding unusual toppings on its pizzas. The list includes cracked eggs, elote sauce and corn and Thanksgiving leftovers.

This time, it's Brussels sprouts, according to a press release.

Brussels sprouts very well could be one of the most polarizing toppings for a pizza since pineapple, but when they're char roasted and paired with crispy bacon and grilled onion, it's an instant conversation starter. The pie is baked with shredded mozzarella and a savory Parmesan-Romano sauce, and then finished with a fig balsamic drizzle.

"Brussels sprouts do indeed have a bad rap, but their glow‑up as a go-to appetizer has been impossible to ignore," Joseph Fahey, culinary director and chef at &pizza, said in the release. "We wanted to give sprouts a spot on pizza and create a pie that stops people in their tracks — whether they're longtime skeptics or just curious enough to take a bite."

The pizza is priced at $12 and is available for a limited time at all &pizza locations.

&pizza has locations across the East Coast in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia, and will soon be entering Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
