Pita Mediterranean Street Food has seen off-premise dining sales (including online orders and delivery) nearly triple since March when the pandemic hit the Atlanta-based restaurant. The increase in business led to CEO Nour Rabai's need to fill orders more quickly, so his team rolled out online ordering and added Street Wraps, which allow guests to customize their own wraps.
"With fewer guests demanding dine-in service, our faster operations and menu items allow us to get food out the door more quickly for delivery or curbside pick-up," Rabai said in a company press release. "We want to provide a fresh product that shows our passion for Mediterranean cuisine without the long wait."
At its Chicago location open later this month, the chain will debut a "hot line" to shorten ticket times and allow guests to better customize their orders. Additionally, the team is developing a mobile app.
Pita recently opened its 35th unit in Pooler, Georgia, and will add at least two more locations by the end of the year.
